My work is rooted in a love of nature and the lines, forms and structure in the world around me. I have lived in Sussex for almost twenty years, and the local landscape is the principal inspiration and text of both my painting and drawing. The ever-changing relationship between sea and land is something I strive to capture, and I hope my work places the viewer in this unique and atmospheric environment, wherever they may be in the world.
I was born in Stockport, Cheshire but moved to Ontario, Canada with my family when I was 11 years old. I think this has left me with a deep sense of the significance of place, and the desire to share such feelings via my work. I moved back to Hastings, East Sussex in 2000 to get married and raise my children. They, of course, are a constant source of inspiration, especially in my drawings!
